Drug Arrest on US 59

LIBERTY, February 10, 2015 - The case of Lamar Henderson age 24 of Arkansas was a typical case of drug interdiction on US 59 near Cleveland, TX.

Henderson was arrested on his way back to Arkansas after a traffic stop on the northbound side of US 59 with just over 5 lbs. of marijuana contained in a backpack in the trunk of his 2010 Honda.

He was arrested and transported to the Liberty County Jail on February 3, 2015 just after 10:00 PM and Justice of the Peace Stephen Hebert set bond at $50,000 dollars early in the morning on February 4, 2015.

Henderson did not give consent to search his vehicle and a DPS Drug K-9 dog was dispatched to the scene that alerted on the vehicle giving Deputies probable cause to conduct a search of the vehicle.

Bail America Bonding Company posted Henderson’s bail and he was released on bond February 4, 2015 after being arrested the night before only 21 hours after his arrest.

Henderson is a young man with resources or with access to resources to make all those arrangements and get out of Jail after only 21 hours, all at great expense to Liberty County when people sell dope on the streets in many of our South Liberty County Communities.
