HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

LIBERTY, October 30, 2013 - TODAY AND TONIGHT PERIODS OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TODAY. DUE TO THE FAST STORM MOVEMENT...ANY ISOLATED STRONGER CELLS THAT MANAGE TO DEVELOP WILL BE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING 35 TO 50 MPH WIND GUSTS. THERE IS ALSO A REMOTE CHANCE OF A BRIEF TORNADO AS WELL. SHOWER AND THUNDERSTORM COVERAGE AND THE TREAT OF HEAVY RAINFALL WILL FURTHER INCREASE LATE TONIGHT AS A FRONTAL BOUNDARY MOVES INTO SOUTHEAST TEXAS.

THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY HEAVY RAINFALL ALONG AND AHEAD OF THE FRONT SHOULD PRODUCE AVERAGE ACCUMULATIONS OF 1 TO 3 INCHES ACROSS ALL OF SOUTHEAST TEXAS THROUGH THURSDAY AFTERNOON. DUE TO NEAR RECORD AMOUNTS OF AVAILABLE MOISTURE...LOCALIZED 5 TO 7 INCH AMOUNTS ARE POSSIBLE WHERE ANY TRAINING OCCURS. THERE IS ALSO A SLIGHT RISK SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH STRONG DAMAGING WINDS AND ISOLATED TORNADOES. THE TREAT OF HAZARDOUS WEATHER WILL END NORTHWEST TO SOUTHEAST DURING THE MID AND LATE AFTERNOON HOURS THURSDAY. THE BULK OF PRECIPITATION SHOULD BE OFFSHORE BY 7 PM.
