Reenactors are from left to right: Neal Thornton playing Thomas Blake Smith; Kevin Ladd playing James Madison Hall; Deborah Pickett playing Kate Nolan; Bob Scherer playing Col. E. B. Pickett; Alana Inman playing "Little Rose, the Runaway Scrape girl"; Eric Sandifer playing Frank Hardin; Glenda Sandifer playing Cynthia Hardin; Cody Abshier playing Ephraim Jesse Crain; Darlene Mott playing Celima Duncan and Don Smart playing William Duncan.
With capacity crowds on both days for all four tours, delighted attendees were entertained by local thespians that rose from the graves of some of Liberty County’s pioneer settlers and told tales of murder, romance, mystery and dubious beginnings. All of the “ghosts” were dressed in period correct clothing and spun tales of intrigue which held ticket holders spellbound.
Commission members and volunteers from the community served as docents, “ghosts” and in many other capacities to make this successful event happen. Many thanks to all! For area citizens that did not attend this years’ event, look forward to another historical cemetery tour next fall!
