Romney Family Ties to Mexico

MEXICO, January 12, 2012 - Mitt Romney’s ancestors fled the US and went to Mexico to live their lives avoiding not persecution but prosecution as new laws in Utah making polygamy a felony crime were passed at the time. As many as 40 Romney relatives left the US 1884 & 1885 and founded communities in Mexico. They lived there for generations. Mitt Romney’s father was born in Mexico.
