Cell Phone Fundraising Program LIBERTY, January 24, 2012 – The Dayton Community Center has announced the kickoff, the expansion of our cell phone fundraising program. The proceeds from this collection program will benefit Our Soldiers in the Military. The Dayton Community Center can earn up to $30 per cell phone, up to $100 per smartphone. We will raise funds for every phone collected, regardless of age or condition; all funds raise benefit our military/ soldiers. “Donating a used, unwanted cell phone allows community members to donate to an important cause without reaching into their wallets,” stated Amanda Wilson Facility Director of the Dayton Community Center. “With the hundreds of thousands of used cell phones sitting idly in our community, the fundraising potential is almost limitless.” The Dayton Community Center has partnered with GRC Wireless Recycling (www.grcrecycling.com), the largest grassroots cell phone recycler in the United States. GRC currently works with over 6000 organizations in 50 states and has contributed over $8,000,000 to participating organizations. Cell phone collection “drop boxes” are currently established at the following locations in the community: The Dayton Community Center requests and appreciates that the public bring their used, unwanted cell phones and battery to this locations during working hours.(8AM-5PM Monday – Friday)
