Vehicle Parked at Intersection Investigated LIBERTY, January 6, 2012 - Around 11:00 PM on Thursday night Corporal Frank Longoria observed a white Chevy pickup parked at the stop sign on Louisiana Street at US 90 with its lights off and stopped to investigate thinking they may be having car trouble.
The vehicle’s engine was not running and the keys to the vehicle were not in the ignition. A man and a woman both of Liberty occupied the vehicle.
Upon investigation both exhibited extreme signs of intoxication and they told Corporal Longoria they had been smoking some synthetic form of marijuana. They were identified as Eric Melton Landry age 30 and Marina Rae Riendfliech age 24 both of Liberty. Both were taken into custody, charged with Public Intoxication and transported to the Liberty County Jail. Additionally Marina Riendfliech was found to be in possession of prescription medication and was charged with possession of a dangerous drug. Upon arriving at the jail, Eric Melton was found to be in possession of about 20 xanax tablets and was charged with possession of a prohibited substsance in correctional facitliy a felony. |
