Drug Traffickers Arrested in Northwest Liberty County

CLEVELAND, December 21, 2011 - At about 3:30 P.M. on Friday 9 December 2011 the Texas Department of Public Safety and Liberty County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office seized approximately 33 pounds of marijuana and $4,160.00 in currency believed to be profit from the sale of the marijuana.

Two suspects were stopped for traffic violations on U.S. Highway 59 near Cleveland and an investigation revealed the hidden drugs and contraband money. The Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office aided in the investigation with their canine.

An ongoing criminal investigation into other offenses possibly committed by these suspects is pending by the Liberty County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office.
