| House Fire on Industrial Road LIBERTY, January 2, 2012 - Around 3:40 AM on Monday, Jan. 2nd, a fire in the bathroom of a double-wide manufactured home sent resident Craig Porter and his dogs scrambling out of their home.
Porter’s wife and children had already left to take an ill relative to the doctor and were not at home at the time of the fire. The Porter family had moved into the home just before Hurricane Ike struck in September of 2008.
The Liberty Fire Department responded to the fire in the 200 block of Industrial Road in Liberty. Porter stated that he thought the fire started with a space heater in the bathroom of the home.
Smoke was pouring from vents in the roof, doors and windows of the home at press time. At press time there were no reports of injures in the fire and everyone including the dogs got out safely.
