Man Arrested for DWI Early Sunday Morning

LIBERTY, December 4, 2011 - Around 12:30 AM on Sunday morning Harris County Deputy Bowdoin was returning home from work traveling in the river bottom between Liberty and Dayton when he observed a red pickup traveling at speed and all over the roadway.

Deputy Bowdoin notified Liberty Police and Officer Elizabeth Polasek responded.

The vehicle pulled over in the parking lot of the Kentucky Fried Chicken in Liberty.

The drive of the pick-up was identified a Jose Rodriguez-Montes age 24 of Liberty. There was a two-year old child and his wife in the vehicle as passengers.

Rodriguez-Montes exhibited signs of intoxication including a strong odor and poor performance on a field sobriety test.

He is also illegally in the United States.

He was taken into custody charged with DWI with a child passenger under the age of 15, a State Jail Felony.
