Drug Arrest in Chambers County ANAHUAC, May 24, 2010 - On May 12, 2010, at approximately 8:15pm, Sergeant Matt Ashby, Deputy Carlton Carrington and K-9 Arco, with the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office Street Crimes Unit were on patrol, when they observed an eastbound vehicle fail to maintain a single marked lane at the 805 mile marker of IH10. The vehicle, a 2004 Nissan passenger car with Louisiana license plates, was stopped. During the subsequent investigation, the driver, 38 year old Jason Ladmirault of Houston Texas, consented to a search of the vehicle. Officers located a hidden compartment in the vehicle and seized three kilograms of suspected powder cocaine. Ladmirault was arrested and booked into the Chambers County Jail for felony possession of a controlled substance. He later posted a $35,000.00 bond.
Members of the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office Street Crimes Unit have made several felony narcotics arrests in recent weeks, both in local communities and on Interstate 10. They have also eradicated two small marijuana crops. One crop was located in a wooded area off of Stutes Road in Winnie, and the other was off of FM 1405 near Beach City.
