Accident on Trinity River Bridge

LIBERTY, January 18, 2010 – Just before 6:00 AM on Monday a Dodge Pickup traveling east approaching the Trinity River Bridge rolled over coming to rest in the center turn lane on the east approach to the bridge.

According to City of Liberty Police Officer Jennifer Bowles who investigated the accident, the driver, identified as Luis Jennings of Liberty, was returning home when he fell asleep, overcorrected and rolled his truck over coming to rest on the driver’s side.

Jennings is a law enforcement officer in Harris County and previously was a police officer with the City of Liberty Police Department and a Deputy with the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office.

Jennings suffered a laceration to the arm in the accident and the City of Liberty EMS transported him to Liberty Dayton Hospital for treatment.

According to Bowles there are no citations in this accident.
