Accident on FM 1960 in Dayton DAYTON, May 27, 2010 - Shortly before lunch on Thursday an accident occurred on FM 1960 just west of Dayton near the Exxon Convenience Store that sent a 78 year old man to the hospital by ambulance.
According to Officer Kenny Broyles of the Dayton Police Department a Scion SUV traveling westbound on FM 1960 slowed down for traffic making a left turn in front of them when it was struck in the rear by Chevy Dually Pickup.
The driver of the Scion was identified as Mary Smith Meaux age 66 of Buna, TX. She had two passengers in her vehicle, a 78 year old man and 74 year old woman.
The driver of the pickup was Jack Leroy Hendrixson age 62. Liberty County EMS transported the 78 year old passenger in the Scion to Memorial Hermann Northeast Medical Center for treatment. According to Officer Broyles both vehicles were insured. Lack Hendrixson was issued a citation for Failure to Control Speed to Avoid an Accident.
