Man Dies in Dayton Motorcycle Crash

DAYTON, October 14, 2010 - Wednesday afternoon around 3:51 PM a young man riding a motorcycle lost his life in an accident on SH 321 near Dayton High School according to Dayton Police Officer Bill Griffin.

Officer Griffin stated that a Chevy pickup driven by Andrew Hayden age 24 of Cleveland traveling south on SH 321 had slowed for traffic at Tram Road when a 1996 Honda Shadow Motorcycle driven by Matthew Wilde age 29 of Raywood rear-ended the pickup.

The Dayton Volunteer Fire Department and Highway 321 First Responders responded to the scene.

Liberty County EMS transported Matthew Wilde to Liberty Dayton Community Hospital with CPR in progress.

Wilde died at the hospital and Justice of the Peace Bobby Rader conducted an inquest. No autopsy was ordered.
