Pastor Charged with Sexual Abuse of a Child

LIVINGSTON, September 28, 2010 - Polk County Sheriff’s Department Investigator, Christi Allen told i-dineout.com that a warrant had been issued for Erick Viera, former Hispanic and Youth Pastor at the First Assembly of God Church in Livingston, TX for Sexual Assault of a Child.

Allen reported that Vera had scheduled an appointment at the Sheriff’s Department to discuss these allegations on August 11, 2010 but left Livingston the night before and did not show up.

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Viera and his whereabouts are not currently known.

The allegations against Vera and his abuse of a child first occurred in early August and it is alleged that Viera had inappropriate relations with the child several times in several locations in Polk County and in Diboll.

The child victim met Vera and came to know him at the First Assembly of God Church in Livingston.

Allen told i-dineout.com that there could possibly be additional victims and hopefully they will come forward at this time.

Viera had been at the First Assembly of God Church in Livingston for about three years and he is 32 years old.
