Tractor Rolls Over on Man in Moss Hill

MOSS HILL, July 25, 2010 - The Hardin the Hull Daisetta Volunteer Fire Departments responded to a residence a few miles of Moss Hill on SH 146 when a 64 year old man using a tractor to do yard work, had the tractor roll over on him.

The man had been spending the weekend doing yard work on his Kubota 4 wheel drive tractor and was traveling down a driveway approaching a deep ditch. The man drove off the driveway and the tractor rolled over on him in the ditch.

According to Firefighters, the man’s head was pinned on the ground beneath the seat of the tractor and his arm was pinned as well.

The man had collapsed the roll bar on the tractor to access a height-restricted area yesterday and had not put it back up.

The ground beneath the man was soft due to recent rains and eventually the man wiggled out from under the tractor with the help of firefighters who stabilized the vehicle.

Liberty County EMS transported the man from the scene to Cleveland Regional Medical Center for treatment and evaluation.

He apparently suffered only a laceration to the wrist and was conscious throughout the entire ordeal.
