Major Accident in Dayton Saturday Night DAYTON, November 14, 2010 - A major accident occurred on North Cleveland Street at Linney Street in Dayton around 10:30 PM on Saturday night.
Off duty Corporal Kevin Theiss of the Liberty County Sheriff’s Department was on his way home, traveling north on North Cleveland Street in his pickup approaching the red light at Linney Street when a black Honda Civic, traveling south on North Cleveland failed to yield the right of way and attempted a left turn onto Linney Street. The vehicles collided in the intersection and both vehicles jumped the curb and came to rest in the parking lot of the Cow Palace Restaurant.
Liberty County EMS responded to the accident scene and transported Corporal Kevin Theiss and his passenger, Klayton Carter age 16 to the hospital for evaluation and treatment.
Dayton Police Officer Ricky Skarpa investigated the accident.
According to Officer Skarpa the driver of the Honda was Ciara Bullard age 19 of Dayton. There were three passengers in the Honda as well. They were Britany Hillhouse age 20, Christopher William Spillman age 19 both of Dayton and David Arnold Taylor age 20 of Cleveland. No one from the Honda required transport to the hospital by ambulance. According to Officer Skarpa, Ciara Bullard will be issued a citation for Failure to Yield Right of Way. Both vehicles were insured.
