Power Outage in Tarkington

TARKINGTON, August 11, 2010 - At around 4:15PM Wednesday afternoon, Tarkington firefighters were dispatched to a report of a power line down on SH321 near CR306, sparking a grass fire.

Tarkington Chief Paul Gregory arrived at the scene to find one line down and a small grass fire in the ditch. Firefighters extinguished the fire and stayed on location for approximately one hour until the arrival of repair personnel from SHECO.

The downed line meant many Tarkington residents were without power and the traffic lights at SH321 and SH105 were not functioning. Power was finally restored shortly before 6:00PM.
