Woman Shoots at Intruder in Her Home MOSS HILL, August 9, 2010 - Liberty County Sheriff’s Department dispatchers were notified at 6:14 PM Monday that a woman, homeowner had shot at a burglar inside her home.
Liberty County EMS and Liberty County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the scene on CR 2112 just north of Moss Hill. The man who in the woman’s home fled from the residence after the homeowner fired a pistol at him.
He apparently cut his arm breaking a window to make entry or perhaps exit the home. The man was identified at Nicholas Adam Tanner age 21 of Alvin. Tanner fled across a field after being shot at and was apprehended by a neighbor.
According to a relative of the homeowner, the woman's home had been broken into only last week. Liberty County EMS transported the Tanner to Liberty Dayton Regional Medical Center in Liberty for treatment.
According to Deputy Sam Pierce, Tanner will be charged with Burglary of a Habitation, a Felony and faces possible additional charges pending the completion of the investigation by the Liberty County Sheriff’s Department.
