Driver Realizes he had an Accident LIBERTY, June 8, 2010 - At around 2:00 AM on Tuesday morning the City of Liberty Police were summoned to the intersection of Hawthorn and Jefferson Drive by a called who claimed he had been in an accident and needed help.
Officer Rolando Aguilar investigated the accident assisted by Officer Cedric McDuffie. According to McDuffie the investigation revealed that the Nissan Frontier pickup had collided with two parked cars a few blocks away near an apartment complex. The driver did not realizing he had been in an accident and drove to the intersection of Jefferson and Hawthorn where he made the 911 call to police.
The City of Liberty EMS responded to the scene to check out the driver for any injuries. The pickup received considerable damage as a result of the accident and was leaking engine fluids, disabling it.
Officer Rolando Aguilar, as part of his investigation, conducted a field sobriety test determining that the driver, identified as Justin Strader age 23 of Dayton, was intoxicated. It is not known if Strader’s alleged intoxication was due to alcohol or prescription drugs, according to Officer McDuffie. Strader was placed under arrest and transported to the Liberty County Jail. |
