Stewart Seeks Office in Hardin County KOUNTZE, January 4, 2010 - My name is Valerie Stewart. I am announcing my candidacy for Justice of the Peace - Pct #6 in Hardin County.

I have lived in this county since 1975. I graduated from West Hardin High School then attended Lamar University. I have worked for Hardin County 18 years. I worked for the Sheriff’s office for years before I became Executive Director of Hardin County Crime Victims. I have served in this role for 2 years. I love the work I do, I have an opportunity to work with the people or our county. Approximately 13 years ago, I founded an organization called Hardin County Angel Tree. This organization helps individuals in this county that are having a struggle during the holiday season due to family illness, economy, house fires, death, and etc. This year the program helped 431 children in the Hardin County area. This program continues to grow and is blessed by the continuation of a group of great volunteers. My family has lived in this area for years. My grandparents are the late Price and Dovie Burnett, my mom is Bobbie Stewart. I have one son, Chance.

I have called this area home since 1975. I would love to see more programs in place that would serve the needs of the people, mainly our children. I am seeking this office because of my love for our area and my respect for the system that is set in place to serve the people. I truly enjoy working with the people in the West Hardin school district.
