Major Accident South of Moss Hill

MOSS HILL, November 9, 2010 - Around 5:58 AM the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a major accident on SH 146 just south of Moss Hill involving an 18-wheeler dump truck and a pickup.

The accident occurred in front of the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church and the 18-wheeler emptied its’ load of sand along the shoulder of the south bound lane.

The Hardin Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene to manage traffic control and control any spills from the vehicles.

Liberty County EMS responded the treat the drivers of the vehicles for minor injuries. Luckily no one had to be transported to the hospital as a result of the accident.

Little it known about how the accident happen as the investigation is just getting started at press time. The driver of the pickup was Matthew Brashier age 22 of Moss Hill.

Traffic was very slow around the accident on SH 146 and it is likely that the accident will require a lengthy clean up period.
