Shooting Suspect found Dead at the Scene

DAYTON, March 9, 2010 - The shooting incident that occurred Tuesday morning in Woodland Hills that left two deputies wounded has also resulted in the death of the suspect Rickey Juneau of Dayton.

Investigators found the man lying near a boat trailer who had suffered what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chin.

According to DPS Investigators the suspect had a history of mental illness.

A resident, Jesse Richardson, across the street from where the incident took place explains what it was like early Tuesday morning at the first signs of trouble.

DPS Investigators, Baytown SWAT Team and law enforcement Officers from several agencies worked to secure the area this morning as the events of the day were investigated.

Deputies Rex Evans age 40 and Jeremy Marcantel age 33 were shot in the incident that was called in as a domestic disturbance with shots fired. Upon their arrival they came under fire from the suspected shooter and returned fire.
