DWI RID Team Makes Arrest AUSTIN, July 1, 2010 - According to the Texas Department of Transportation, there were nearly 600 motor vehicle crashes in Texas as a direct result of driving while intoxicated in 2008 alone. Those crashes resulted in 29 confirmed deaths and 241 serious injuries.
Deputies D. Smith and R. Warwick were conducting morning surveillance based on information that Kadlecek worked as a logger and began his day early. Deputy Warwick spotted Kadlecek and notified Deputy Smith who then initiated a traffic stop and confirmed Kadlecek’s identity and warrant through the county. Kadlecek was arrested without incident and taken to the East Montgomery County Jail for processing. Constable Hayden said he was proud of his deputies for making the first RID Team arrest and taking a habitual drunk driver off the street. “When someone is repeatedly arrested for driving while intoxicated, it’s only a matter of time before they kill or seriously injure themselves or someone else,” Constable Hayden said. “I’m glad to be working with the District Attorney and the Sheriff to make the streets of Montgomery County as safe as possible.” Kadlecek is currently held without bond in the Montgomery County Jail in Conroe awaiting transfer to the custody of the Texas Department of Corrections.
