Power Outage in Liberty

LIBERTY, November 26, 2010 – Around 2:55 PM on Friday about two thirds of the City of Liberty was plunged into darkness as a result of a power outage according to Liberty City Manager Gary Broz. The outage lasted for about thirty minutes and power was restored around 3:25 PM Friday afternoon.

According to Broz a large electrical switch at the substation on Beaumont Ave. was tripped by a varmint who was fried in the process.

During the outage traffic signals at major intersections were inoperable.

In Liberty this truly was Black Friday in more ways than one.
