Four Cars Collide on North Main LIBERTY, June 18, 2010 - It was during rush hour on Friday afternoon that a four-vehicle accident occurred in the 3700 Block of North Main Street in Liberty in front the Liberty County Teachers Credit Union just north of the SH 146 Bypass.
According to investigating Officer, Jeanne Marie Ewing of the City of Liberty Police Department, a mini-van traveling south on North Main had stopped to make a left turn into the credit union when it was struck in the rear by a small, blue Chevy pickup.
A dark blue Chevy Cavalier was following the Chevy pickup and took evasive action to avoid the accident loosing partial control of his vehicle. A red Pontiac struck the Cavalier in the rear.
City of Liberty EMS responded to the scene and checked the occupants of the vehicles for injuries. According to Officer Ewing no one had to be transported to the hospital by ambulance.
The driver of the mini-van was Wanda Chesson age 64 and the driver of the Chevy pickup was Randal Pettay age 55. The driver of the Chevy Cavalier was Megan Goike age 20 and the driver of Pontiac was John Marcontell age 17. All are from the Liberty County area.
According to Officer Ewing all vehicles were insured and Randal Pettay will receive a citation for Failure to Control Speed. Give us your Feedback about this story! |
