Mr. Morrison is well known for his integrity and personal and business ethics. He was a twenty-eight year member of Kingwood Baptist Church where he was a Church Council member and soloist in the Sanctuary Choir before joining Calvary Baptist Church in Dayton, he is a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and Little League Football coach. He was raised in a blue collar family in Cloverleaf, worked and paid his way through college at the University of Houston, is a Life member of the Texas State Rifle Association, a 44 year member of the National Rifle Association, a Committee member of the Friends of NRA, and a member of Ducks Unlimited, The Houston Safari Club and the American Legion. He has worked in the Petroleum Refining and Chemical industry, the Power industry and the Transportation industry and has been responsible for Engineering and Construction contracts totaling 1 billion, 1hundred 33 million dollars annually. Mr. Morrison has worked on multi million dollar projects in Iran, Saudi Arabia, France, Venezuela, Canada and the United States. Mr. Morrison’s vision for Liberty County is to bring honesty and integrity back to the office of County Judge in order that the people can be proud of its County Officials again. He intends to have the Texas Rangers investigate all accusations of wrong doing by any County Employee or Official and to prosecute to the full extent of the law any wrongdoing. His vision for the County includes creating a Federal Grants department to take advantage of the availability of Federal funding, to convert the County to a centralized purchasing and contracts department for combining the purchasing power of the County, to work with the Houston Metro to extend the HOV lanes on Highway 59 from the current expansion which will stop at Roman Forest to instead expand to Cleveland. He plans to work with TXDOT and the Federal Transit Agency to expand FM 1960 to four lanes all the way to Dayton instead of stopping at FM 2100 as is currently planned. The principle duties of a County Judge are to oversee and administer the business of the County and to create growth in the County economy. Mr. Morrison intends to let the Criminal Court at Law and the Justices of the Peace adjudicate the law and the County Judge represent the County for all County, State and Federal matters. He feels that it is time to do away with the career politicians and the good old boy system. It is his intent to support term limits for all political offices in the county and to help bring back confidence and trust to the residents of this great and resourceful County. It is time for government to reduce the burden on the property owner, to respect the rights of the taxpayer, to demand openness, fiscal restraint, and to work toward a smarter more efficient government.
