Crash on North Main Street

LIBERTY, May 20, 2010 - An accident occurred on North Main Street at the red light at Jefferson Drive Thursday evening at approximately 7:30 PM.

Officer Brandon Wakefield of the City of Liberty Police Department told i-dineout.com that he witnessed the accident and observed a Ford Expedition rear end a Ford Pickup that in turn was pushed into a Dodge Charger as traffic was coming to a stop for the red light in the northbound lane.

City of Liberty EMS responded to the scene to check out the drivers and passengers in the vehicles.

The Ford Expedition was driven by Troiani McKenzie age 35 who had two young child passengers in her vehicle.

The Ford pickup was driven by Liberty City Councilman Mike McCarty age 57 of Liberty who told i-dineout.com that, “I was the cream in this Oreo Sandwich.”

The Dodge Charger was driven by Catherine Bell age 18 of Liberty.

Councilman McCarty was able to drive his pickup home as did the driver of the Dodge Charger.

The Expedition sustained significant front-end damage and was disabled.

According to Officer Wakefield all parties to the accident were insured and there were no citations issued in this crash.
