Phone Map Sales Beware

LIBERTY, June 8, 2010 - Mary Ann Campbell with the Liberty-Dayton Area Chamber o Commerce told i-dineout.com today that the map sales for the Liberty-Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce Liberty County map ended the first few days of May. Prior to the sales campaign, the name of the company who sold for us was advertised extensively in the news media and a letter was sent to all of our members. Many of them are also members of other organizations.

If these calls being brought to everyone's attention are recent, they are most likely not on behalf of the Liberty-Dayton Area Chamber. It is the profile of other ad sales companies, whether for maps, menus, magnets, etc., to just begin making sales calls by phone. Many times they are a scam and when questions are asked they will usually try to evade them, or just hang up.

If those who receive calls will get the name of the 'company', their location, contact person--or even ask the question as to who they are selling for - it will be of benefit to everyone.
