Accident on Wallisville Road

LIBERTY, March 26, 2010 - Traffic was slowed on FM 563, Wallisville Road, near Abbott Creek just north of the TVE Fairgrounds around 5:24 PM Friday afternoon as the result of a one-vehicle accident.

City of Liberty EMS responded to care for the driver of the vehicle and Liberty Fire Department responded to manage traffic control and clean up an oil spill from the roadway

According to City of Liberty Police Officer Brandon Wakefield a red Ford Ranger was traveling north on FM 563 when the driver overcorrected after a turn and rolled his vehicle over. The truck came to rest on the guardrail of the bridge over Abbotts’ Creek.

The driver and only occupant of the truck was Rodney Doran Lee age 60 of Liberty.

According to Officer Wakefield any citations in this accident are a matter of continuing investigation.

At press time it is not known if the driver required transportation to the hospital by ambulance.
