Why LISD Reporting was So Slow LIBERTY, November 3, 2010 – As you may recall, LISD choose to have early voting in the School Bond Election done at LISD Administration Building rather than have it at the four polling places for the General Election. However, on election day, voting in the School Bond Election was at your normal polling place for the General Election. Early Voting representing about half of all the votes on the Propositions in the School Bond Election and was not able to be completed by School District Employees until around 11:00 PM on Tuesday. This is because paper ballots used in Early Voting at the LISD Administration Building had to be, what amounted to, counted by hand. This was a labor intensive and time consuming process that the LISD School Board chose to engage in. This delayed the results for hours. Had Early Voting in the LISD Bond Election been handled during Early Voting for the General Election, at the same location, the Early Vote would have been the first thing reported as was Early Voting in all the other races.
