Pipeline Maintenance Announcement

LIBERTY, October 15, 2010 - The Koch Pipeline Company will be performing a routine maintenance procedure on it's Ethylene pipeline that runs through southern Liberty County, beginning next Monday October 18th. This procedure will result in maintenance officials setting up flaring points at two locations along the pipeline.

The first location is near Hwy 1409 just north of the Chambers County line, and the second location will be near Hwy 563, just north of the Chambers County line. The entire maintenance procedure is expected to take less than 72 hours to complete.

Residents in the area may report seeing fire or smoke in the vicinity of the flaring points and the purpose of this announcement is to let everyone know that the flaring operation is allowable under TCEQ regulations and is not a violation of the burn ban currently in place for Liberty County.
