Hit and Run Accident in Liberty LIBERTY, February 6, 2010 - Around 6:24 PM on Saturday, Toran Justice age 44 of Liberty was crossing US 90 at FM 563 on a bicycle coming from the Exxon Convenience Store on the corner.
Justice had the green light to cross US 90 but before he could get across the light changed.
A westbound 18 Wheeler was stopped at the intersection and observed what was going on. According to Officer Jean Marie Euwing of the City of Liberty Police Department a dark colored pickup pulled out from behind the 18-wheeler and struck Toran Justice. After sticking Justice, the pickup fled the scene of the accident. Officers put out attempt to locate broadcasts to other area law enforcement agencies but the pickup and its driver have yet to be located. City of Liberty EMS responded to the scene and transported Justice to Liberty Dayton Community Hospital for treatment of his injuries. According to Officer Euwing, police are looking for a dark colored, possibly red or maroon, 1990’s model, Chevy or GMC pickup, with damage on the driver’s side rear quarter panel near the back wheel.
