Hospital District Purchases Hospital LIBERTY, August 3, 2010 - Today the Liberty County Hospital District No. 1 purchased the Liberty Hospital building and real estate this morning. The actions of the Hospital District came about as the result of the first lien holder, on the real estate, Potomac Valley Hospital, foreclosing on the Hospital’s present owners, Liberty Dayton Community Hospital LLP. For months the Hospital District has been trying to negotiate with Liberty Dayton Community Hospital LLP to lease the building, take care of past due debts of the hospital and attract investors to the facility. During this time the Hospital has been operating at a loss with the Hospital District picking up the shortfall. It appears that the foreclosure action by the lien holder on the real estate, forced the action of the Hospital District to purchase the building and property for $350,000 doallars. The Hospital District still has to make arrangements through negotiations to purchase the equipment in the hospital and satisfy those how are owed money by Liberty Dayton Hospital LLP including, taxing entities, the IRS, the City of Liberty for Utilities and other vendors.
