FLNB Announces New Board Members

LIBERTY, February 9, 2010 - First Liberty National Bank held its annual stockholders meeting Friday, January 29, 2010. At the annual stockholders meeting the present board members were re-elected. Those directors are R. O. Busby II, Guy L Harris, Matthew G. Harris, Paul J. Henry, Mrs. Barry N. Jeffrey, Charles L. McGuire, E. R. Norwood, Edward B. Pickett and Charles R. Wiggins. Two new members were added to the board, Mary Ann Haywood (not pictured) and D. Mayes Middleton II. The Board re-appointed two members as Advisory Directors; A. J. Hartel III and John G. Middleton.

Chairman Emeritus Charles R. Wiggins stated, “We are very proud of our directors. These individuals are leaders of our communities. With their guidance, we provide superior sources of financial solutions for our customers needs.”

Mr. Wiggins added, “We are very please to add to new board members; Mary Ann Haywood and Mayes Middleton.” Mrs. Haywood, who lives in Baytown, is the granddaughter of Bert Revere, who is the founding director of the Bank. She grew up in Liberty. She and her husband, David Haywood, have investments in banking, real estate, and oil and gas properties. Mayes Middleton grew up in Wallisville, Texas. He graduated from the University of Texas, with undergraduate degrees in Plan II and Finance. He received his law degree from the University of Texas. He worked for the Legislature and for the Travis County District Attorney while in law school. He is employed for Middleton Oil Company in Houston. Mr. Middleton is the third generation to serve on the Board and the fifth member of his family to serve on the Board.

Jack Hartel was appointed Advisory Director in 2009. Mr. Wiggins stated, “ We appreciate the leadership that Jack has given to the Bank for over 40 years. When he was first elected to the Board, the Bank had total assets of less than $7 million. The Bank completed 2009 with total assets of $235 million. Mr. Hartel played an active part in that growth.”
