Major Accident Crockett at MLK LIBERTY, December 23, 2010 – City of Liberty EMS responded to a major accident at the intersection of Crockett and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive in Liberty at 1:04 PM early Thursday afternoon.
According to Officer J. M Ewing of the City of Liberty Police Department a white Chevy Impala traveling north on MLK from US 90 disregarded the stop sign at MLK and pulled into the path of a White Mazda Protégé traveling east on MLK.
The vehicle collided sending them in different directions along MLK and Crockett Street.
EMS transported the driver of the Mazda to Liberty Dayton Regional Medical Center complaining of back and neck injuries.
The Mazda was driven by James Willis age 48 of Liberty and the Chevy was driven by Erin Gaudet age 25 of Liberty.
Both vehicles suffered heavy damage in the accident and had to be towed from the scene. According to Officer Ewing, Erin Gaudet received a citation for Failure to Yield Right of Way at a Stop Sign.
