Here Last Night, Gone this Morning LIBERTY, September 17, 2010 - The city of Liberty Police Department is investigating two incidents of Theft of the Wheels and Tires off of Chevy vehicles that occurred late last night in Liberty at the homes of the vehicles owners.
When Eddie Presnull of the 100 block of Wallisville Road in Liberty woke up this morning and started to go to work he noticed that his wife’s late model Chevy Tahoe parked in front of his home was missing its’ tires and wheels. In both cases, i-dineout.com was told the thieves left the vehicles with cinder blocks under the brake rotors and lug nuts scattered on the ground. Presnull told i-dineout.com that his wife was up late last night watching television in the living room and did not go to bed until around midnight. The living room is located directly adjacent to where her Tahoe was parked. The Tahoe was an upgraded model with the original equipment, Chevy 19 or 20 inch wheels. Presnull had just put a new set of tires on the vehicle. The other similar reported theft occurred in the 1400 block of Magnolia Street in Liberty. The vehicle whose wheels and tires were stolen was a late model Chevy Pickup. Those involved in the investigation thought the thieves were looking for a specific type of wheel and not just wheels from any vehicle.
