Driver Resists Arrest on FM 1409

WESTLAKE, July 19, 2010 - On Saturday afternoon Deputy Robert Dunn was traveling north on FM 149 just south of the fresh water canal while on patrol when a white Ford pickup failed to maintain lane and nearly crashed into Dunn’s patrol car head on.

The pickup then left the roadway to the right and came to a stop in the ditch on the west side of the highway.

Deputy Dunn found the driver in an altered mental state and attempted to place him under arrest.

The driver, identified as Christpoher Teschendor age 35 of Dayton resisted arrest and Deputy Dunn had to use pepper spray to subdue the man.

Liberty County EMS responded to the scene to determine the man’s medical condition and treat him for decontamination.

According to Deputy Dunn, Teschendorf’s altered mental status could be caused from alcohol, pills or medical condition.

According to Deputy Dunn Teschendorf could be charge with several things including DWI, Failure to Maintain Lane or resisting arrest. However, further investigation will determine.

Teschendorf was taken into custody and transported to the Liberty County Jail.
