Accident at AutoZone Liberty

LIBERTY, April 30, 2010 - Early Friday afternoon a two-vehicle accident occurred on US 90 in front of the AutoZone Store when a pickup truck traveling west on US 90 attempted a left turn into the AutoZone parking lot and was struck broadside by an eastbound Mercedes Convertible.

The driver of the Dodge Dakota Pickup was Thomas Dunagan age 22 of Hardin.

The driver of the Mercedes 560 SL was Keith Varner age 53 of Liberty.

After the accident the vehicles came to rest in the driveway of the AutoZone and were not blocking traffic on US 90.

Both vehicles suffered considerable damage in the accident but luckily no one had to be transported to the hospital.

City of Liberty Police Officer Brandon Wakefield investigated the accident. Both vehicles were insured and at press time there are no citations in this accident pending further investigation by the department.
