Two-Vehicle Crash on US 90

LIBERTY, August 28, 2010 - Around 9:15 PM on Friday a two-vehicle accident occurred on US 90 at the SH 146 Bypass in Liberty that sent one man to Liberty Dayton Regional Medical Center by ambulance with unknown injuries.

According to Officer Tony Stines of the City of Liberty Police Department, a BMW Coupe was exiting the Luxury Inn and Suites Motel attempting to go West on US 90 and pulled into the path of an Eastbound Ford Explorer in the left turn lane.

The driver of the BMW was Douglas Allen Wood age 33 of Houston
and the driver of the Explorer was Robert James Murphy age 38 of Batson.

The BMW also had a single passenger identified as Todd Edward Powell age 32 of Conroe.

According to Officer Stines both vehicles were insured and all the driver’s licenses of the occupants were valid.

Stines stated that the driver of the BMW would be issued a citation for Failure to Yield Right of Way.
