Shed Burns in Tarkington

TARKNGTON, August 16, 2010 - Around 11:30 Sunday night, Tarkington Volunteer Fire Department Chief Paul Gregory was awakened by someone furiously knocking on his front door. When Gregory opened it, the man informed him that he had a fire in his backyard. Gregory rushed out the back to find his storage shed fully involved. He immediately notified Cleveland PD dispatch and had TVFD respond.

Firefighters on Engine 51, Tanker 51, and Engine 52 arrived minutes later and quickly knocked the fire down, but the building was already a complete loss. The contents, including a go-kart, generator, and pressure washer, were also destroyed.

The Liberty County Fire Marshal was called and the preliminary investigation points to an accidental fire.
