Major Accident on US 90 East of Raywood RAYWOOD, June 25, 2010 - Only minutes after 4:00 PM on Friday afternoon, the Devers and Hull Daisetta Volunteer Fire Departments were dispatched to the scene of a major accident on US 90 near CR 193 between Raywood and Devers.
According to DPS Trooper Chris Richmond, who investigated the accident, a gray Ford Pickup traveling west on US 90 drifted into oncoming eastbound traffic and collided with the Buick Sedan.
Both vehicles spun out of control and came to rest in the ditch on the south side of US 90. The pickup rolled over and burst into flames. Passersby pulled the elderly driver of the pickup, identified as Tennie Dagle, Jr. age 65 of Liberty, out of his burning vehicle.
A landing zone was set up on US 90 just east of the accident scene and Life Flight transported Dagle to Houston’s Hermann Hospital for treatment of a head injury.
US 90 was closed in both directions for more than an hour.
The driver of the Buick sedan was identified as Malcolm Francis Leboeuf age 80 of Houston and his passenger was his brother Donald Leboeuf age 82. Both men were transported by Liberty County EMS to Liberty Dayton Regional Medical Center in Liberty for treatment of their injuries.
