Christmas Season Brings Trouble

ABU DHABI, December 21, 2010 - The Holiday Season can really sometimes just bring a host of unforeseen problems and difficulties no matter what you do.

Take for instance the problem of the Abu Dhabi Hotel who after they revealed there 11 Million Dollar Christmas tree were criticized for doing something that was really less a celebration of the holiday season and more of just an exhibit of very bad taste.

In an article entitled, “Abu Dhabi Hotel Regrets $11M Christmas ‘Overload,’ “ we learn after they revealed the tree and started receiving criticism for it, had to issue a press release attempting to distance themselves from it by blaming the hotel jeweler who had been responsible for all the decorations consisting of real gold ornaments, enormous, diamonds, rubies, and other precious stones.

The hotel also claimed the tree was not a stunt, but rather an effort to boost the holiday mood for its guests based on the United Arab Emirates' "values of openness and tolerance."

The press release went onto say that, “The hotel was just a venue for exhibiting the tree,” and their responsibility ended there.

Although a Muslim country they have a large foreign population and do heavily get into Christmas traditions such as, Lights, Carolers and Santas in all the nearby shopping malls.

Large or small, rich or poor, no matter how you try, it doesn’t matter. Sometimes the holiday season can just be a real bunch of trouble.
