Former Liberty Resident Found Dead in His Home

LAGO VISTA, September 22, 2010 - This afternoon Public Information Officer, Roger Wade with the Travis County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that David N. Chaumont, age 55, formerly of Liberty was found dead in his home in Lago Vista, TX, near Austin around 9:00 PM yesterday.

The Travis County Sheriff’s department is conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death and the Travis County Medical Examiners Office is conducting an autopsy and investigation of their own. The medical examiners report will not be available for six to eight weeks.

PIO Wade stated that a family member had gone to Chaumont’s residence at 17913 Kingfisher Ridge Drive in Lago Vista yesterday after they missed a call from him to check on his welfare.

The family member discovered Chaumont in the residence and called EMS.

Chaumont lived alone in the single-family residence.

From preliminary findings investigators believe Chaumont had been dead for no more than 36 hours and foul play is not expected in this case.

David Chaumont is a 1973 graduate of Liberty High School.
