Three Charged with Murder in Chambers County
WINNIE, January 4, 2010 - On Thursday, December 31, 2009, at 4:21am, authorities responded to a house fire at 404 Franzen Road in Winnie, Texas. Fire Departments from Winnie-Stowell and Hamshire responded, along with the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office. During the course of extinguishing the fire, authorities located a deceased person inside the mobile home.
At 5:45am that same date, Chambers County Deputies were dispatched to a report of a vehicle in the ditch at FM 1406 and Devillier Rd, less than two miles from the scene of the house fire. Upon deputies’ arrival, they located three Puerto Rican male subjects. Two of the three subjects were covered in blood, and the vehicle, a black and white 1995 Lincoln Towncar Limousine, was registered to a person who lived at 404 Franzen.

The three Puerto Rican males were identified as (1) Carlos Mateo Caldron-Malave (19 years old), (2) Ignacio Vazquez Domenech (21 years old) and (3) Adiel Vales (23 years old). All three subjects confessed to the stabbing death of the victim at 404 Franzen, after an argument. The suspects then set the mobile home on fire and fled in the victim’s car. All three suspects have been initially charged with murder and bond has been set at $500,000.00 each. Chambers County Sheriff Joe LaRive advised that other charges could be filed later on in the investigation. It appears that the suspects had recently come to Texas and were staying in the Winnie area. |
