Two-Vehicle Crash on US 90 at Main Street LIBERTY, August 1, 2010 - The City of Liberty EMS responded to a two-vehicle accident on US 90 at Main Street in Liberty near the Valero Convenience Store at 3:16 PM on Sunday afternoon.
According to Officer Brandon Wakefield of the City of Liberty Police Department a green Chevy pickup was traveling north on Main Street out of the South Liberty Oilfield and attempted a left turn to travel west on US 90 and pulled directly into the path of a Southbound Chevy Suburban with a adult driver and four children.
According to Officer Wakefield the Chevy pickup failed to yield the right of way to the Suburban.
The vehicle collided head to head in the eastbound lanes of US 90.
The driver of the Chevy pickup was Sylvester Wickliff age 46 of Liberty and the driver of the Suburban was Candice Caldoran age 53 of Conroe. Liberty EMS transported two of the four children, Vanessa Alvarado age 11 and Madison Alvarado age 8 to Liberty Dayton Regional Medical Center for treatment.
