Cleveland Jewelry Store Hit by Burglars

CLEVELAND, August 25, 2010 - Cleveland Police are looking for the person or persons who smashed their way into a jewelry store early Tuesday morning. The burglary happened at Cleveland Jewelers on Houston Street across from the Texan Theater.

Officers said they received a call from the store’s alarm company around 2:30 a.m.
When officers arrived they found one of the glass doors in the front of the business had been broken out and multiple watches and rings were missing.

Store employees secure most of the jewelry items in the display cases at night but the crooks took a few items from one of the display cases that were left out.

After a quick response and vigilant search of the surrounding area, a subject was detained and now is a person of interest. Police believe this person did not act alone.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Cleveland police Department at
(281) 592-2622, or the EasTex Crime Stoppers at 409-724-TIPS
