Driver Crashes into Tree on FM 1011

HARDIN, July 9, 2010 - Around 7:30 AM on Friday the Hardin Volunteer Fire Department and Liberty County EMS responded to a one-vehicle crash on FM 1011 about a mile north of FM 834 in Hardin.

Upon arrival it was apparent that a 1985, black, El Camino had crashed into a tree on the West side of the roadway

The driver of the vehicle was Leo Budro age 61 of Beaumont, TX.

Liberty County EMS checked out Mr. Budro at the scene and he refused transportation to the hospital by ambulance.

According to Liberty County Sheriff’s Deputy Jonathon Clark, the driver stated that he was tired, fell asleep and left the roadway.

The vehicle took down several feet of fence and crash into a tree. The vehicle suffered extensive damage.

According to Deputy Clark the vehicle was insured.
