Some People Don’t Follow the Rules

LIBERTY, April 16, 2010 – Officer Frank Longoria of the City of Liberty Police Department observed a white sedan traveling in an area known for narcotics activity and followed the vehicle determining that its license plates were expired.

Longoria affected a traffic stop on the vehicle that pulled into the parking lot of Mas Amigos on North Main Street around 11:00 PM.

The driver, identified as Joseph Bowers age 33 of Dayton, was determined to be driving while license was invalid and had previously convictions for the same offense.

Furthermore, Bowers is a registered sex offender in the State of Texas.

Officer Longoria arrested Bowers on the charge of Driving While License Invalid and transported him to the Liberty County Jail.

Bowers had a female companion in the vehicle he was driving. She was identified as Amber Schroeder age 26 of Dayton.

Officer Longoria determine that she had an outstanding traffic warrants from the City of Dayton.

Dayton Police Officer Bill Griffin arrived on the scene and transported Schroeder to the Liberty County Jail for the outstanding warrant.

It was determined that Schroeder had in excess of $1,500 worth of outstanding traffic tickets.
