Accident on FM 563

LIBERTY, July 12, 2010 – An accident occurred on FM 563 just south of the City Limits of Liberty around 2:00 PM on Monday afternoon.

The driver of a red Dodge Neon identified as Shari Blanchard age 25 of Humble, TX was transported to Liberty Dayton Regional Medical Center for treatment of neck injuries.

According to DPS Trooper Cory Davis who investigated the accident the Neon was traveling north on FM 563 when it ran off the road, overcorrected and crossed over the southbound lane. The vehicle traveled through the ditch, took down a cyclone fence and the sign in front of the Pleasant Hill Church founded in 1885.

According to Trooper Davis the focus of the investigation and possible citations will deal with problems with the occupant’s driver’s license and whether or not a seat belt was worn at the time of the accident.
