Westlake Suffers Blackout

WESTLAKE, April 24, 2010 - Shortly before 2:00 AM on Saturday morning the electric power went out from the Brown School in Dayton, south on FM 1409, to about CR 417 as the result of an auto accident between the two canals on FM 1409.

A white Chevy pickup traveling north on FM 1409 left the roadway and struck a utility pole breaking it in two.

The driver of the pickup had left the scene of the accident and witnesses told investigating Troopers they had seen a man walking south along FM 1409 toward the Spin Inn Market with a limp.

The truck was removed and electrical workers were on the scene by about 3:00 AM to repair the damage, set a new pole and restore the power.
